To design a retro-inspired poster promoting the Atari 2600 and Pelé’s Soccer, celebrating the console’s legacy while introducing its cultural and technical significance to a modern audience.
Atari Poster
The project began with research into the visual language of late 1970s and early 1980s advertising; muted tones, tactile textures, and structured layouts. I chose to illustrate every element, including the Atari 2600 console and game cartridges, to maintain stylistic consistency and reinforce the handcrafted, nostalgic feel.
The console with labeled components transforms the poster from purely promotional to educational, inviting viewers to understand the hardware’s structure and functionality.
The result is a poster that merges illustration, retro aesthetics, and informational design; functioning as both a marketing piece and a tribute to one of gaming’s most influential consoles.
